Jack the Dripper

Day 27

Today's nails are inspired by Jackson Pollock, an American artist who painted abstract works of art by pouring and dripping paint on a large canvas tacked most often to the floor.

I tried to create a similar effect, but I used nail polish as my medium. ;)

I used nothing as a base (except a clear basecoat), but I used Zoya Dakota, Zoya Pippa, Zoya Raven, Zoya Envy, China Glaze Salsa, China Glaze White on White, China Glaze Sci Fi-Khrome, and Ultra Pro in Blue Blaze, all layered in different directions with Konad Plate m70.

  6. I really like these. Plus I've learned something new. I thought that the Konad plates could only be used with the special polish they sell. I know it is thicker than normal lacquers. Do you do anything special to make your regular polishes work?

  7. Coniqua- nope, I don't do anything special, but I do try to pick polishes that are more opaque- the New Chian Glaze Khromes are amazing for Konad, as are quite a few from the Zoya line- I particularly like Zoya Trixie on a matte base color. There are lots of polishes that work great with the Konads, and sometimes it's nice to have that sheer look so the less opaque ones work well in different applications too! :)

  8. I don't understand how you did it. There's no way you could have used the brush. Did you drip it from a toothpick? What technique is going on here? You should have videos as well.
