What a Stitch!
Saturday, August 14, 2010
I'm sure that a lot of you have noticed that a good portion of my ideas for nail art come from things going on in my daily life, today is no exception! I do a lot of cross-stitching, which is kind of nerdy, I know, but I've done it since I was a kid, I love doing it. I am currently working on a cool cross-stitch project that I'll show you all when it is completely done. I like it, and it goes against all traditional cross-stitch. :-P For today's nail art, I decided to go old school, and do a simple floral border type cross-stitch pattern.
I used Color Club Coastal Creme as a base, with A Beautiful Life Poison for the red, American Apparel Manila for the yellow, and Nubar Forest for the green. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.
Also, today is my friend Boz's birthday and tomorrow is my roommate Maris's birthday, so everyone wish these two awesome ladies a Super Awesome Happy Birthday!! :)

ReplyDeleteThat's cute cute, but must have been a pain in the butt to do! How on earth did you keep it symmetrical?
ReplyDeletei've cross stiched as a kid too, my mom just gave me artsy stuff so i'd be quiet - and it worked ;)
ReplyDeletebtw everyday i'm more inlove with your nails, i wish you could do mine too!
Those are adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy mom started me cross stitching as a kid, also to keep me quiet (like MoranSha) and I love it!
I still sew when I get a chance, or knit a few rows on my scarf
Anyway, last fall, I was at the fair in Cobb County (GA) and wandering through the area where you win prizes for things. Someone won first place for cross stitching a monopoly board! Coolest thing I have EVER seen

What kind of nail Polish remover do you use?
ReplyDeleteAh cross stitching is fun! When going through old stuff, I ran across a bunch of my mom's old unfinished cross stitching projects! Hahah. You have to post yours when you finish it. (:
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to them from a fellow Leo! :) Can't wait to see the project.
ReplyDeleteWonderful design! My mom got me into crafts when I was younger too.... cross stitching, beading, art, etc.
ReplyDeleteNow let me ask you, what do you do after day 365? Please tell me (and your faithful followers) that you'll keep going! We love your nail art! :-)
Thanks for the Birthday wishes
ReplyDeleteI love to cross stitch too!! So not nerdy!
ReplyDeletereally cool! i used to cross stitch a bit when I was younger too, my grandma and aunt taught me :)
ReplyDeleteI love this so much! I wish I had such a steady hand!
ReplyDeletei've cross stiched as a kid too, my mom just gave me artsy stuff so i'd be quiet - and it worked ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I also cross stitch, not nerdy at all, actually, turned my addiction to cross stitch into a business......I'm a professional, model cross stitcher. I stitch up new designs from about 10 companies that are photographed, then published in magazines, put on kits to show a finished model, it's great. Still love it!!! Might try this on my nails, too.
ReplyDeleteCool! I like that one too!
