Crimi-Nails.

Day 108

Something tells me I need to lay off the NCIS marathons... and CSI... and Criminal Minds... and... well you get the idea. I'm a crime show junkie. Today's nails are my simplest yet I think, but they're definitely one of my favorites. :-P

I used Sally Hansen All the White Stuff as a base, with a mix of Zoya Dakota, Zoya Angelina, and China Glaze Salsa to get a blood color.

All I did to get this look is dab my fingertip in the red paints, blot on paper til I saw clear prints, then press my fingertip on the white nail. :-P Easy crime scene. :-D

  4. remember when you kids covered the meatloaf you hated with red pepper so we couldn't eat it and you blamed it on each other? I had you convinced the police could dust it for finger prints - ended up with two criminals.....the memory must have stayed in the back of your mind!! Mom :)

  5. I still maintain that crime was committed by Stacey. You have no proof, mom.

  16. you forgot the last step in getting the fingerprints- "pray that the red polish rubs off before you have to do something important."

  22. Yay! CSI nails! Great idea, once again! Great blood color! The 'clots' are a nice touch. (pun intended...) I once covered my front storm door in 'bloody' paint handprints for Halloween, but the kids were too freaked out to come up for candy, so I had to scrape it off pretty early. I really felt bad for scaring them, but I guess that meant it looked pretty good...
(and nothing's too scary once you have a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in your grubby little mitts!)

  32. Totally just did this and it's AWESOME. I did one thing Dexter-style though--on my ring finger nails I went heavy on the "blood" making what looks like a bloody pool on those nails. It looks awesome in with all the fingerprints. Then my friend and I got bored and photographed my hang holding a (fake!) bloody knife. We're super macabre.
