Day 98
9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...NAILS! I decided to do film leader nails today because I love the way film leaders look, even though they are fairly bland, they have an interesting aesthetic to them, and plus, I've recently jumped into everything movie/film related, so they just seemed to 'fit'.
left hand:
right hand:
I used Orly Mirror, Mirror as a base, then mixed it with American Apparel Cotton to get the lighter grey of the rotating clock arm part, I also used American Apparel Cottonfor the white circles, and then used OPI for Sephora What's a Tire Jack? Matte for the black lines, and for the numbers. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat to get that high-gloss gleam!

As a film student, I'm jsut going to throw it out there that these are my favorite nails to date :)
ReplyDeleteOkay...I am totally amazed by what you do. I wish I was ambidextrous to do stuff like this. Your nails look GREAT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyeah, dexterity is definitely a problem for me. my left hand always turns out great and my right hand is not so good. It's really annoying, but what can I do?
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Love that :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know how much I <3 your nail blog! I did a video for my youtube channel about my favorite blogs and you were one of them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UUjS_qStzM
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites to date! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say that you have the best imagination. Who would think to do this? Its crazy. :) Also, I wanted to tell you that because of your blog and the wonderful ideas you have, it made me break the habit of biting my nails so that I could do more with them, rather then having little stubs. :D Its the best thing ever. So, thank you. And keep up the amazing work.
ReplyDeleteAmazing as always!
ReplyDeleteEw. Your nails have been terrible these last few days. Especially yesterday. And the comments -- really? Who are you all trying to convince?
ReplyDeleteThese are just awesome. I wish I had such clever ideas :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous should perhaps chill a bit. Just because something might seem puzzling to you doesn't mean others don't understand it- we happen to think this these are awesome nails, and a great idea. We're not trying to convince anyone. We're simply stating what we regard as fact. Nobody's forcing you to like them. Please, relax! We're all friends here...
ReplyDeletesaw this blog post on my google reader and thought of your blog...

To anonymous, you are an idiot. Why would you go on someone's page and say such a mean thing? Her nails are AWESOME and if you don't like them, get off her blog. It's all about HER imagination, she just lets us go along for the ride. Enough words on you. DAILY NAIL: I LOVE YOUR NAILS!!! Because of you I have had my nails painted everyday since I started reading your blog. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove them! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteLove them. Very creative with all the themes! I read about your blog in The Fair Lady mag in Cape Town, S.A.

DailyNail are you over your cold/flu yet? Take care and keep warm only 9 more weeks til spring yea!! Bye from your "movie" fan from Oregon :-) :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!!
ReplyDeleteLindsay- do you have a copy of it? I'd love to see the article!!
I can say what I want to say.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, you need to get something on those jealousy bumps before you break out in ugly all over...Ooops, too late. It sucks to be you.
ReplyDeletelol dont listen to Anon. what a hater. i cant say this design is my fave but its still awesome and the fact you can even paint numbers with your "other" hand is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteone thing i keep thinking throughout this blog is how sad u must feel each day when you remove the designs.. especially if they have taken you ages and you really like them.
A really nice post and thanks to author for this post. Hoping to see more from you....:)
