Day 108
Something tells me I need to lay off the NCIS marathons... and CSI... and Criminal Minds... and... well you get the idea. I'm a crime show junkie. Today's nails are my simplest yet I think, but they're definitely one of my favorites. :-P
I used Sally Hansen All the White Stuff as a base, with a mix of Zoya Dakota, Zoya Angelina, and China Glaze Salsa to get a blood color.
All I did to get this look is dab my fingertip in the red paints, blot on paper til I saw clear prints, then press my fingertip on the white nail. :-P Easy crime scene. :-D

These are awesome!! But they might scare my students...
ReplyDeleteOMG! Wow! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am out of words.. wow!
You made a crime show junkie happy! :D
Sooo cool! I might even try this now :)
ReplyDeleteremember when you kids covered the meatloaf you hated with red pepper so we couldn't eat it and you blamed it on each other? I had you convinced the police could dust it for finger prints - ended up with two criminals.....the memory must have stayed in the back of your mind!! Mom :)
ReplyDeleteI still maintain that crime was committed by Stacey. You have no proof, mom.
ReplyDeleteNow those nails are an 'arresting' development....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this, so creative!
ReplyDeletehahaha your mom is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteand this was a very clever design!
LOVE THIS!
ReplyDeletewow love these! criminal minds is awesome!

you forgot the last step in getting the fingerprints- "pray that the red polish rubs off before you have to do something important."
ReplyDeleteNot really into the shows you mentioned, but as a Dexter fan, I approve =]
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! =DDD
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!!! So glad you all like it!! :)
ReplyDeleteNaomi- BIG Dexter fan too, but going to do a separate DEXTER design at some point.. :)
ohdesy- I love Bones too lol
Awesome as always!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a crime show junkie too! Law and Order S.V.U. is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThis just goes to show that sometimes simple is best! Awesome idea, I love seeing the things you come up with!
ReplyDeleteI think I would freak out that there was blood on me every time I looked at my hands! Your blog is so kickin!
ReplyDeleteYay! CSI nails! Great idea, once again! Great blood color! The 'clots' are a nice touch. (pun intended...) I once covered my front storm door in 'bloody' paint handprints for Halloween, but the kids were too freaked out to come up for candy, so I had to scrape it off pretty early. I really felt bad for scaring them, but I guess that meant it looked pretty good...
ReplyDelete(and nothing's too scary once you have a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in your grubby little mitts!)
Super creative! Love this mani!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, what a great idea! Love it! I'm a CSI, NCIS... junkie too. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, i like to try this... Thumbs up again!
ReplyDeleteThis is just great! I think I will try this myself, but I think I'll do a gray print so it looks like I have had my nails "dusted"!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love them. It's so simple, yet so nice! They look really great!
ReplyDeleteHello,

I think these are my favorite nails you have done thusfar! I love em!
ReplyDeleteLove love LOVE these! All you need is a yellow crime scene strip on your middle finger, haha.
ReplyDeleteYou can NEVER have too much NCIS. never.
ReplyDeletelove it !!
ReplyDeleteTotally just did this and it's AWESOME. I did one thing Dexter-style though--on my ring finger nails I went heavy on the "blood" making what looks like a bloody pool on those nails. It looks awesome in with all the fingerprints. Then my friend and I got bored and photographed my hang holding a (fake!) bloody knife. We're super macabre.
ReplyDeleteughh, i tryed it but my nail polish turned out pinkish :( i used L'oreal Paris #205 Activate && Colorama #076 Burgundy Blaze, && also this no name nail polish its kinda a colour like the L'oreal Paris one but with golden sparkles
ReplyDeletewhat nail polish should i try next time?
a little criminal in side me thinks that this is really nice ^-^
ReplyDeleteOMG this is the coolest ever! yet so simple... I'm not a CSI-Junkie, but I totally love Dexter and Patricia Cornwell's books! I'm definitely gonna do this on my nails. YOU ROCK!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool, yet simple too! I'm going to try it with different colors. Maybe a teal background with white fingerprints :)
