Slow Down, Don't RUSH more!

Hey all!! Guess what today is? (Besides a day I got off of work?) PRESIDENT'S DAY! (Hence the day off work!!) In honor of the holiday, I decided to do my depiction of Mt. Rushmore on my nails.. :-P They're immortalized on money, in stone, and now in nail polish. ;)
I used Orly Mirror, Mirror as a base, and mixed with varying amounts of Zoya Raven for line work and shading. For the sky, I used Zoya Yummy. Topped everything off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.
Happy President's Day! :)

Your shaing skills are awesome!! It's family day in Canada! I guess it's better than prime minister day :p lol
ReplyDeleteUh... Shading
ReplyDeleteWow, and in order, too! Yay for Presidents Day nails! That is awesome. What a perfect George Washington. Better than money!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go to Mount Rushmore, and the Grand Canyon, too. I've been over, but never to. (flying...)
I think you do amazing portraits, and considering how small they are, your likenesses are absolutely uncanny. Especially with them being on your nails! Good grief!
I have to say that my brain is forcing me to see a bit of Bob Hope in Thomas Jefferson! But maybe that's because I REALLY WANT to see more to smile about in politics... ; )
these are incredible
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome, I love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is great!! You are a really, really great artist - your skills really shine through. This is a really cute, fun, and easily recognizable mani - I really like it :D

ReplyDeleteThese are great! I wish I had your mad nail art skillz. *sigh* When I take a go at mine, it looks like my five year old niece did it. Maybe, I should lay off of the caffeine? ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next design.
That it amazing! Girl you've got some skill

ReplyDeleteGreat job! =)
ReplyDeleteWow, once again your detail is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI was watching the movie Julie and Julia the other day and thought about your blog- do you ever have meltdowns where you just want to get on with your day and not paint your nails?
And exactly how many bottles of Seche Vite top coat do you go through?
That is SO clever! I absolutely love it.

Wow, I didn't think that was humanly possible. I would never have enough patience to do that!
ReplyDeleteso - do you remember the vacation when we stopped at Mt. Rushmore? You were pretty little and couldn't figure out why they cut all the heads off and didn't keep the bodies? I think at that time you were more impresssed with snack and souvenir shops... :) Great Nails by the way!!! Mom
ReplyDeletethat is unreal!! you did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteMan, that's perfect! Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I did NOT expect such an awesome response on this design!! :) THANK YOU!!
ReplyDeleteReaderRita- lol I totally see it now too. :-P
Elizabeth- I do! I went to college for Graphic Art. :-) Thanks!
Shawna Fay- on occasion, I don't get quite as angry, but I do have days where I'd rather just watch tv under a blanket on the couch rather than do my nails. As for Seche Vite. I have the 4 oz bottle, and it is half gone already. :-P I go through A LOT.
Mom- remember the dude who told you that you had a beautiful voice when you were actually lip-synching?
