Air Nail

So I was thinking about the Daily Nail logo, and it made me think of other types of mail, like airmail, and I thought that airmail would be a fun look for nails!! So, I got to work making some french tip sticker guides out of painter's tape and a Konad plate as a guide for my X-acto knife, painted the stripes, and c'est voilà! - Air Nails! :-P Ok, I'm a dork, I'll freely admit it. I have to say though, I think it's hard to use guides, they drive me nuts, so I only use them when I have to- like for stuff like this.

I used Sally Hansen All the White Stuff as a base, with Pure Ice French Kiss for the blue stripes, China Glaze Salsa for the red stripes, and China Glaze Liquid Leather for the cancellation stamp on the middle finger. Topped everything off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat for good measure. :-P

(Thank goodness it didn't add on to shipping costs!!) :-P

  1. I'm convinced the Seche Vite top coat is what keeps messing up my manicure. I emailed you about it a couple weeks ago, if you got it. It makes my mani come off all in one piece, which is really annoying.

  2. megweno, I've had that problem when I use the Seche Vite top coat, almost the whole nail will just peel off. Maybe daily nail doesn't have issues because she uses it for only a day before she takes it off? I still haven't found any top coats that keep my nails from chipping :(

  4. Megweno- I've only had that happen on one polish, and that was because I added topcoat WAYYY after everything was dry. From what I hear, it's best to put the Seche on when the polish is still damp/tacky.

Response to the comment- Hey, I think you're right about the Seche Vite top coat. If you want a really good topcoat that doesn't chip and keeps your coats on for a long time, you should get Essie Good to Go. It's great.

  6. I like China Glaze No Chip Top Coat. It's not a quick dry but I use Drip Dry drops for that and my nails never chip. Of course I rarely leave polish on longer than 3 to 4 days, short attention span I guess.
