:-D lol For those of you not in the know, today's nails are Domo, or Domo-kun nails. Domo is the mascot of a Japanese television station, and has also been shown in a few short animations on Nickelodeon, in Target's Halloween decor, and most recently on the coffee cups, etc. at 7-11. He is described as 'a strange creature that hatched from an egg'. I just think he's cute. :-P I decided to paint him on my nails after seeing a Domo stuffed doll on my co-worker Kevin's desk. :)
I used Nubar Milk Chocolate Creme as a base, Sally Hansen All the White Stuff for the teeth and eye highlights, China Glaze Salsa for the mouth, and Zoya Raven for the eyes. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.
Fun fact: Domo is known to fart repeatedly when nervous or upset. :-P
*toot*
And a treat for my non-Twitter followers...
I found the surprise in the nail polish packaging!! (I think I'll stop buying nail polish from the Dollar Tree now)
Your eyes do not deceive you, that IS in fact a broken fingernail INSIDE the packaging. The irony? It was for a strengthening polish!!
I'm contemplating contacting the company and asking if anyone is missing their nail and would like it back. :-D

Love the mani, hate the disgusting fingernail in that package, lol!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, that's gross! (But your manicure is awesome, per usual.)
ReplyDeleteI love the color in the bottle, but the nail definitely gives me the skeeves. Here's my wayward fingernail story: When we were on our way home from our honeymoon, we stayed a couple of nights in Miami. My hubby and I went to a kitschy bar (that referred to itself as a 'lounge' thus making it EXTRA kitschy...). Upon entering, we looked at each other and both silently mouthed the word 'swanky'. Needless to say, it was 'swanky' in a Holiday Inn circa 1981 sort of way. We grabbed a table, and decided that this might be a place we'd see ex-showgirls, and z-list movie stars from the 1940's. Then we looked down, next to our table. On the floor, with a mini spotlight directed exactly on it, was one perfect pink pearlized 'Lee Press On Nail' and one false eyelash. We both BURST into laughter.
ReplyDeleteTo this day, that remains the defining moment of our trip, and all one of us has to say is 'Lee Press On Nail' to the other in order to dissolve into gales of laughter.
...and I love the Domo nails! I didn't know about his "fun fact"- that's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWhoehahaha! That nail!
ReplyDeleteI would have love to see the look on your face.. =D

ReplyDeleteewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteAHAHAHAHH thats really funny! Cmon - the irony of it alone!!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me so much of my trip to Japan and searching endlessly for a Domokun to bring back to my friend Amanda. To think they'd be EVERYWHERE but no - only one place in Rappongi had it and it was hidden behind about 5 girls dressed like maids trying to coerce me to go to their tea shop. *memories*
Love the mani!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of broken fingernails.. Mine always break! They are fragile. I keep them short and manicured.
What do you suggest for a strength nail growing product ? I'm afraid to buy anything and it boy work and waste money!
Help me!
That is soooooo gross!
ReplyDeleteCUTE nails...and that broken fingernail...wow...that's a LOOOONG one too! whoever lost it is surely missing it. ew.

Oh my god, Domo nails! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAw Domo, so cute :D
ReplyDeleteAw Nail, so gross D:
Hahaha! DOMO is Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteOh and I'd be thankful that it was ONLY a fingernail!
In high school, I bought a disposable camera and after taking all the photos and getting it developed....we noticed a picture that wasn't taken by us! It was a room full of small Asian women stuffing film into the disposable cameras. The room looked dirty and the women looked very tired and sweaty. I haven't felt right about buying a disposable camera ever since.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a plastic nail tip, maybe a free sample?
ReplyDeleteI love Domo-kun!! And about the nail inside the package... LOL. Creepy.
ReplyDeleteSquee! So cute, I have a Domo on my desk at work too :o)
ReplyDeleteI love the Domo-kun, great idea for nails! =DDD
ReplyDeleteWell, the nail is not only broken, but also chipped. I suggest using a chip preventer =D
