It's nearly the end of May, we've just 'celebrated' the unofficial start to summer that is Memorial Day weekend, and it's time to break out those brights! (I mean, I'll break them out all year round, because I'm a damn rebel Dottie.) The latest collection from ORLY delivers on brights in a big way, giving us retina-searing shades of green, yellow, turquoise and coral that are grounded by deep, traditionally fall-inspired hues of slate and berry. I think it's safe to say I'll be using the collection this summer and well beyond–the extreme brights play nicely with the deeper tones, and boys and girls, these neons don't need undies. Despite the temperature of my hands never breaching a balmy -46°F, I LOVE thermal polishes. They may exist solely in the cold state when on my fingertips, but the fact that I know that there is another magical color hiding in that polish is enough for me. Now that Summer has officially started, I am 100% ready for fall. Fall has always been my favorite season...I love the colors, the smells, and most of all, the temperature. We're positively melting here in Vegas–on Tuesday it was 118º, so it's no wonder that I am looking forward to fall! I'm not sure why I chose Las Vegas as my home, I've always hated the heat, and this place is B-R-U-T-A-L.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab American Gods Swatches and Review

What comes to mind when you think of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab? For me, it's vials of potions and scents that are completely unique. I have a few of their scents, one of which was made for the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia, and it has notes of old books (my fav!), leather, balsam, and raw vanilla. As soon as I read the description, I knew that I had to have it. But, I digress, we're not here to talk about fragrances today, we're here to talk about the amazing new American Gods nail polish collection that is amazing from the candy pink crelly of Easter to the chartreuse and gold glitter of Coin Trick. Today was toasty here in Vegas...it was reminiscent of Midwest summers, with a higher than usual humidity mixing with the heat to make a breezy sauna in the Vegas valley. The only bad things about today was that I had to do my damn taxes. The absolute worst. I've had my full-time job income portion done on my taxes, but had to do my other income, which totally f**king sucked. Why did I wait until the day before Tax Day, you ask? Good question...it's because I'm dumb. :D

Anyway, I've got some more swatches and simple nail art comin' at you!

It was 90° here in Vegas today... for most of you that are reading this, that might mean SUMMER!!!, but here in Vegas, that simply means that Spring is upon us. Oh, the days of my youth...my teenage years awkwardly spent in the 90s with a strange and slightly unhealthy love of...vests. While the grunge movement only barely made it to the tiny town of 800 that I grew up in, I still appreciate the days of flannel shirts, combat boots, and Nirvana just as much as if I had participated in them myself. :) I'm loving the nostalgia that comes with Rebel, the latest collection from the color geniuses at China Glaze! The colors and finishes definitely evoke memories of the 90s, and are positively stunning even if you're too young to remember them!

This collection is probably one of my absolute favorites from Zoya in a while! I love love love the bright cremes! Jace, Cecelia, and Talia belong together...they make a perfect trio. I think they're my favorites of this collection, but Serenity runs a close second to them, and I also love Demetria and Nana! It's rare that I love a whole collection, but I feel like all of these are extremely wearable! :)
