Sometimes it just feels gooooood to be bad. As a HUGE Disney fan, I was SO excited when I saw this collection was coming out from Morgan Taylor. Sure, the Villains aren't usually who I root for, but I HAD to have this collection nonetheless. Read on to see my swatches and themed nail art to go along with each villain-inspired shade! (All nail art is also painted with Morgan Taylor polishes!)

Geometric Vibes with Cácee Timeless Lacquer

Press Sample
Today I have a new to me brand, Cácee (pronounced [kah•shay]), and I'm delighted to show it to you! I got to try out 10 colors and their base and top coats, and I have to say, I'm pretty darn impressed! I got to try a variety of finishes, from foil to glitter to creme and back, and they were all great!
To better showcase the colors I received, I'm going to split them up over a couple of posts and show off some nail art featuring them as well as the swatches! Today I am featuring Gray as You Go, Far & Oasis, and Bright Summers with some geometric nail art! I had the idea to use the colors to create radiating vibrations from the geometric shapes. It kind of reminds me of wifi or something. Good goooood good good vibrations!
Hit the jump for swatches and more!

Holo Splash!

Nothing to Disclose
I'm a sucker for a holo. I think we all suffer from 'squirrel' syndrome... at least that's what I call it! Let me explain. When I see a great holo, I'm all eyes on that holo, much like when a dog sees a squirrel! :D (especially my 'nephew' Yukon...you can't even SAY the word squirrel without him losing his mind!)

So I feel like a total jerk. I've had these polishes for a while. I got them right before I went into the ICU at the hospital, and actually I used them for a design right away that I never got to post because I DID go into the hospital. These polishes are fantastic! Along with the LVX topcoat, the manicure I did when I first got them lasted over THREE WEEKS. (I was extremely impressed, and with good reason!)
This nail art is a recreation of the nail art I had back when I first got them. I think Oyster is my favorite; it's a light grey that is so opaque that I could've probably gotten away with one coat, but did two to be on the safe side. I love how pigmented these polishes are, and I haven't found a grey yet that I don't love! (Especially if it's a creamy, delightful grey!!)
I'll be reviewing the polishes soon as well, but wanted to share this nail art with you!
I used:
Light Grey: LVX Oyster
Dark Grey: LVX Anthracite
Bright Pink: LVX Cerise
LVX polishes are available at www.shoplvx.com for $16.00

The Daily Nail Dog!

Nothing to Disclose
As you guys may have noticed, I've been a little lax in my posting the past year or so. Because of that, I've decided to take the blog in another direction. If you follow my Instagram, you know that I just adopted a new little fur monster...her name is Molly, and she's a 4 year old deer chihuahua! Because I could never paint Homer's nails, I was so excited to get a girl dog so I could paint hers!
The new focus of the blog is going to be nail art painted on puppy toes!! I've changed the name of the blog ever so slightly from 'The Daily Nail' or 'The Daily Nail Blog' to 'The Daily Nail Dog'! :)
I decided to test out a spinoff one of my favorite designs, Reverse Rockabilly, which is perfect for this weekend here in Las Vegas! It's Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend here this weekend! She was so patient, and such a sweetheart through the whole painting process! Homer hates when I touch his toes, but she just looked at me with her weeping, bulbous eyes. She's so cute, and a total spitfire! She and Homer are CONSTANTLY playing, we're so glad we found her! You can click on the photo below to enlarge it! :)

OK friends. I normally wouldn't do this, but this competition is SUPER important to my team and I, and the prize is amazing. (and one of the judging criteria is page views and interaction!)
At my job (Zappos.com), there is currently an internal contest going on to kind of explain the Zappos culture and strategy. Part of this competition is to create a video that represents that information in a fun and unique way. My team chose to do a time lapse video of me drawing images that represent the ideas we're talking about.
Trust me- not as boring as it sounds!! lol Plus- you get to see some nail art that I created in the spirit of Zappos!
My team and I would love if you would watch the following video, give it a thumbs up, and if you have the time, leave a comment! It would make our day!

It's spring. Seriously, in Michigan today I am able to go outside WITHOUT A COAT! How exciting, right?! I have to say, I'm super stoked about slightly warmer days and well, the lack of snow. I can't wait to be able to play outside with Homer and take his energetic little white butt for walks.
Today, to celebrate a day above freezing, I decided to do some quick nail art using some nail polishes from the Morgan Taylor nail polish line. It's very simple, but it makes me think of pools and bright sunshiny days!
To achieve this look, I simply painted my nail with Morgan Taylor Water Baby and then used tape to mask off where I didn't want the turquoise to go, then painted with Morgan Taylor West Coast Cool. Remove the tape, add topcoat and done! :-D
I used:
Light Blue: Morgan Taylor Water Baby
Turquoise: Morgan Taylor West Coast Cool
Basecoat: Morgan Taylor Stick With It basecoat
Topcoat: Morgan Taylor Need for Speed topcoat
What do you think? Does this nail art feel like Spring? What are you painting for spring? Tell me in the comments below!
Morgan Taylor nail polishes, as always, are free of formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate and can be purchased at loxabeauty.com for $8.50.

The Daily Nail is MOVING! (again)

I'm seriously so excited to tell you the REAL reason I moved back to Michigan instead of moving back to Las Vegas when I came back from India. I needed to acclimate myself to a cooler climate because I was selected to be part of a group of 'normal' people to participate in an experiment in Antarctica to study how super chilled climates effect the average person so scientists and researchers can better prepare for global climate change. Exciting right?
Not to worry though, I did get permission from the head of the study to continue writing on my blog and posting pictures. However, there is one little catch...
I hope you all are ok with this method of showing my nail art!!! On the bright side, I no longer have to concern myself with cuticle care. BONUS! :D
I'll post better pix later tonight- I couldn't get the darn colors to come out right, and I ran out of time before work!
Here is a picture of the nails by themselves. A little rough on the edges, I'm not used to painting falsies!
I used:
Grey: Nubar Fashion is Forward
Aqua: Nubar Dreamy Moss
Violet: Nubar New Mood
Pink: Nubar Spring in Her Step
Pink-toned purple: Nubar City Self
Bright pastel coral: Nubar Succulent
Bright pastel orange: Nubar Wildflower Blooming
Topcoat: Nubar Diamont Top Coat

So good news for Dexter fans without Showtime...Season 8 is on NETFLIX! :D I'm surper stoked, and trying to pace myself so I don't devour the entire season in a single day. (I watched seasons 1-4 in a week, all while working full time, I have a problem.)
Aaaaaanyway. I actually did this nail design back in July when the show was on TV, but never posted it. I know, I suck. I based this off of a Season 8 promo image I saw, where Dexter's image is made up of blood spatter. On the remaining nails, I did blood splatters over a white background. Red is the worst color to do splatter nail art with, it's so hard to remove all the pink residue that remains from the pigments. I'm fairly pleased with how this turned out, the face isn't super obvious at first glance, which I like. :)
I used:
White: Chrome Girl Between the Sheets
Red: China Glaze Adventure Red-y
Dark Red: China Glaze Adventure Red-y mixed with American Apparel Hassid
One of more of the items used in this post were provided by the manufacturer for review, the remainder of the items used were purchased by the author.

Moonicure Monday - I Always Feel Like...
Tuesday, October 2, 2012
... Somebody's watchin' meeeee.
This week's Moonicure Monday post is a day late, and for that I'm sorry, but this blogger fell asleep in a rather uncomfortable position (across 2 chairs) last night before I could do the Monday post. Guess staying up to do the Dexter post Sunday night wasn't the best of ideas, I didn't get to bed til 3:30 a.m., and had to wake up at 7 a.m. Super fun. However, that said- the season premiere of Dexter was fan-freakin-tastic. Probably the best season premiere I've seen! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, and if you don't have Showtime, they've uploaded it to their YouTube for FREE! Very awesome, if you ask me.
Anyway, this design is creeping me out in the worst way. Not sure it'll last long! lol *shudder* It's not even a Halloween one!! (hint hint- that will come tomorrow!! :D)
