ZOYA Urban Grunge Metallics – Swatches & Review

Press Sample

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw a sneak peek at this collection from the floor at Cosmoprof North America in July! Zoya has absolutely KILLED it with this collection for fall! There are definitely favorites for me, but hit the jump to see the Metallics half of this gorgeous collection and choose your own favorites! :)

Zoya Alicia

Silver scattered holo with gold shimmer

This was the one that caught my eye first at Cosmoprof- a mainstream doing a holo is always a big deal! What I didn't notice then is that there is a lovely golden shimmer woven throughout this polish that makes it something special. I am in LOVE with this one, even if it's not the linear holo I originally hoped for.

Opacity scale (1-5): 2

Finish: Scattered Holo, 2-3 coats, depending on how you feel about VNL.

Zoya Finley

Royal purple with scattered flecks of holo glitter

Such a rich and gorgeous purple, and the jelly-ish base of the polish creates a depth because you can see all the flakes of silver below. So pretty!

Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5

Finish: Scattered holo, 2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Ash

Bright raspberry with magenta/red & gold shimmer

This one is definitely more pigmented than the rest, and has a cool combination of shimmery colors in it- a great type of pink, if that's your thing. :)

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Metallic, 1-2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Britta

Mulberry metallic with magenta and red shimmer

Another pigmented one; this polish applied super awesome, and the color is a gorgeous twist on a regular berry polish.

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Metallic, 1-2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Merida

Emerald green with scattered holo glitter

Woah. This polish looks like piles of glittering crushed emeralds. It's so freaking pretty, I can't even stand it! Definitely my close second for favorite in this collection after Alicia! :)

Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5

Finish: Scattered holo, 2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Troy

Deep eggplant-tinged charcoal metallic with a hint of gold shimmer

Such a unique color, it isn't your typical charcoal metallic, it has the slightest hint of a deep eggplant to it, which makes it something new!

Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5

Finish: Metallic, 2 coats to be opaque

Wow. This collection wasn't entirely what I expected, but I found a couple new favorites for sure! I can see myself wearing Alicia a fair amount, it seems like a good palate cleanser, so to speak. All of these polishes had fantastic application, too, so no complaints here at all!

    1. I didn't really wear it long enough to give it a chance to stain, but in the time it took to swatch and remove it, I didn't have any issues! Even if it did, totally worth it ;)
