Let's Go For a Dip!

A FUN DIP!! I love candy of all kinds, but I particularly love all that is sour, tart, and fruity. Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip definitely falls into that category. The sugary-rush of goodness that rolls over me when I eat it makes me happy. (it makes my dentist happy too!) Today's nail art is dedicated to this tooth-decaying delight!

I used OPI Alpine Snow Matte as a base, with China Glaze Flyin' High mixed with OPI Gargantuan Green Grape for the 'wet' sugar powder, OPI What's With the Cattitude? sponged over that, and a smattering of OPI Alpine Snow Matte sponged over that to help it look like powder. For the cherry sugar powder, I used the aptly named Orly Pixy Stix for the 'wet' sugar, and Orly Cotton Candy sponged over it, with a small amount of OPI Alpine Snow Matte sponged on top for a powdery look. For the grape sugar powder, I used Eyeko Lilac Polish for Lovely Nails as the 'wet' sugar base, then sponged Orly Lollipop over it, and a touch of OPI Alpine Snow Matte over it.

I had to break some Fun Dip out, it makes me a little... well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words right?

  2. Oh my God!!! I love Fun Dip! I feel too old to still be buying them (I'm 27)! For me, the stick was, and still is the best part, I am thrilled that they give us two sticks in a package now instead of one. (and three powders instead of two!) :D

  6. Lol! That picture is priceless! Every time we go to our cottage, we stop the convenience store, and I buy that candy like 3-4 times a summer. Sooo good! I agree with Michelle, the stick *is* the best part.

  8. Hi, I can not be your biggest fan because I started watching your blog every day to three days ago and now yeah I'm your fan!
I do not know if you read the messages but I think so, but do not know if you read all clear and do not know if you read mine, but if you read I think it will be satisfied with my job!
I'm from Brazil Minas Gerais Belo Horizonte, I'm using Google translator to talk to you I have good reason for that! I'm wasting my time? No! For now I just need to do the duty of Portuguese Now!
Well the first time I heard you was in 2009 at my colleague, the second time after you left the site of whim (one of the best magazines in the world (I think) when he painted the nail with a picture of Marilyn Monroe [ this is how you write? not know!]) then decided to see your Blog ache as much!
Today I see the nails all day and read your comments!
I love your nails they are very beautiful and I think you're super creative but now I am your super fan! Well when you have ideas could you paint some ants? if you do I believe that was clear in my honor and I will comment and show me who I am name and other things!
Why ant? is the name of the city of my family!
Thank you for your attention and understanding!
    kisses love you!

  9. OOOHHHH, I loved the tart powder! The stick was too sweet for me. Am I remembering which is which right?
Anyway, in an effort to be healthy, I'm trying to cut down on a formerly massive sugar (and caffeine) intake by eating fruit. (!)
I'm trying to convince myself that a kumquat peel is like the stick, and the kumquat fruit is like the powder. (really, they are best eaten together- just like Lik-M-Aid!) It doesn't always work, but hey- I'm trying. Plus it's so fun to say and type "kumquat"! (and you don't need an "f" key!) ;)

The photo is hilarious. I love the mani peeking out from under actual Lik-M Aid powder!
I know you have answered this before, but I don't remember, and I'm sorry to ask again, but what kind of sponge do you use? Just a regular old cellulose thing?
Thanks! Can't wait to see what you've got for us tomorrow! Yay!

  10. How yellow are your nails since you've been painting them so much? I'm surprised they're still as long as they are, I'd figure they would've gotten really weak and started cracking by now. That happened to mine after I painted them nonstop for a couple months, I had to cut them way short. :\ Oh man, now I want Fun Dip.

  19. I wear polish constantly (usually change every 2 or so weeks, no chipping) and my nails don't turn yellow, you must use a base coat. I actually have 3 coats of clear under the color. I don't know how she doesn't change so often either, one hand at a time, maybe, this way it's like every other day for taking off polish.
