Send in Reinforcements!

Hey everyone!! Today was a lazy day, I ended up not going to class because I hurt myself on the jetty climbing around like a 5 year old (which apparently you can't do as easily when you're nearly 29), I slipped on a wet rock and pulled something in my calf and hurt something in my back. Sucky. The back injury hurts with each breath, I'd stop breathing, but that might be a worse situation to be in! :-P I FINALLY got my hands on Orly Glam Rock, the matte copper metallic that I've been lemming for a while now. (Nick G. from Sally Beauty went far and beyond his job to find it for me in the Vegas area, but alas, it was sold out, but I managed to get it from transdesign.com. YAY!!
To explain today's post title, I'll tell you what I used to create this manicure- PAGE REINFORCEMENT stickers!! :) I painted the Orly Glam Rock, then stuck the stickers on, painted the nails with American Apparel Peacock, then removed the stickers. After that, I used a dotting tool for the dots, which were an afterthought, because just the arcs looked super plain. I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite top coat, I wanted to leave the copper matte, but the Peacock was matte because it was painted over the matte, and I didn't like how it looked. Hope you like it! :)

OH man! Sorry to hear you hurt yourself, ICE is your friend, get it on the back and leg asap.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it, but I love that you come up with something fresh every single day. :)
Sorry to hear you hurt yourself, hope you feel better soon. I totally love this one - love the Glam Rock!
ReplyDeleteoOOoh Glam Rock!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really, really fun design. Loving the color combo too!! What a insanely cool use for page reinforcements (way cooler than reinforcing pages - I always found that rather annoying. If a page is so tattered it is falling out of my notebook, then I say good riddance! )(and then stash it in a folder.. haha).
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your back and calf :( Goodness, it is crazy getting 'old.' I went to a playground a few months back with the kid I babysit and I destroyed a pair of shoes, hit my head on a low-hanging bar, and bumped my knee on an ill-placed slide. Hope ice helps everything feel better. If not, compression can be useful (depending on the injury). Hope it heals quickly and you're back to normal again soon :)
I am so stealing this!
ReplyDeletesorry you hurt yourself. but your nails today are wicked awesome! i have a question, where do you get the stickers?

MMMMM... sparkly!
ReplyDeleteI hope your back and leg feel better! (Ice, ice, ice and Advil...)
I've done that before!! Mine didn't turn out quite as nice though. I didn't let the polish dry enough before taking off the stickers so it was a mess!
ReplyDeleteStunning! As nice as anything you've ever done. Looks very Art Deco too.
ReplyDeleteHey
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you'd help me out. I check out your blog daily and I absolutely LOVE what project you came up with. I fall in love with almost all of your designs and i wish I could have my nails done by you!
What i needed to ask you was regarding the KONAD stamps you use. I have one of their smaller kits, which i bought to try out and it was amazing! It needed a little practice to get hang of but i watched videos on the webpage and just had some patience. Now that I got the hang of it, I was hoping I'd have more stamp plates shipped over. But, Im confused. I want to get all the available designs, but I dont know what would be better, buying individual plates or their Super Plates with multiple plate designs. I was hoping you could help me out and tell me what you bought and how.
I'd be waiting for your reply. Anxiously
they look awesome! i really like those two colors together :)
ReplyDeletehey i tried this out but it turned out a mess! :( how long do you usually wait for your polish to dry before sticking on the stickers?
ReplyDeleteSO I just tried this, but with water marble underneath and it was a huge FAIL, but I'm trying it again tomorrow w/o the water marble...LOL
