Robot Love


I'm a sucker for a deal, I've made no secret of that. The dollar section at Target is the death of me, but on occasion, I do find some useful stuff! Today's nail design is based off a little robot notepad that I bought- there were socks to match the notepad too, but they were kid's socks, so I didn't get them. (I may have small feet, but not THAT small! lol) I love the little robot guy- he's super cute on the notepad, and I did my best to recreate the cuteness. :-D I got to use a cool new polish as the base for this design- Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road, which is a yellow jelly that comes out April 15! I wish that I had prettier nail lines, because I think this polish rocks, and my funky nails don't do it justice!


I used Deborah Lippmann Yellow Brick Road as a base, with China Glaze Hey Sailor! for the red, Orly Gumdrop for the robot, mixed with Orly Sapphire Silk to shade as well as for the arms. For the grey, I used Orly Mirror Mirror, for the eyes, I used American Apparel Cotton, with American Apparel Hassid for the pupil and for his smile. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Beep! Boop! Boop! Beep!

    love the new paint job! this latest design is ace and little robot has my heart for sure. i've actually shopped in kid's Gap before, the scarfs and some things that are the largest possible sizes can sometimes work out okay. i always wonder why they don't make more whimsical pieces for us who still live in the kidulthood realm ; )

    I love the robot!! So cute!!! <3

    One thing though... I am disappointed by Yellow Brick Road. YUCK! A yellow polish should never leave VNL. There is no way it would look good without the nail art to distract from it just on it's own, IMO.
    I'm usually not one to leave a negative comment about something, but this color is gross. But that is just my opinion, maybe Deborah Lippmann (who normally is amazing) is on to something with a yellow jelly...idk..

    I love the dollar section at target. I bought my son the robot socks and the whole utensils and dinnerware set. The nails are so cute.

    it's such a funny coincidence....around Honolulu lately, i've been noticing a bunch of graffiti that looks VERY similar to your robot. square-ish shape with 2 antenna, and a heart or two on it's chest.

    I made a sock bunny this weekend out of that Target Robot sock :) I am making an crafty animal every day this year and saw those socks and had to buy them.

    Kids get the best stuff- I usually want kids shoes made into adult size- why do they get all the fun?!
    I love your robot! And I want to love Yellow Brick Road, and I can- on someone else. On me, it would look like I had recently died a slow, ugly and painful death...
    And OMG!-Courtney- I was in San Diego 2 years ago (during Comic-Con!), and I saw a robot that looked like this (well, Target's) robot drawn in chalk on the ground in a park (square, 2 antenna)! There MUST be something to this! Love it.

    I really like a greenback area on target. I got myself the boy a automatic robot clothes as well as the complete eating utensils as well as dishes fixed. Their nails are hence lovable.
