ZOYA Magical Pixie Dust Swatches & Review

Press Sample

If I had to guess what kind of nail polish Disney princesses and fairies wore, the Zoya Magical Pixie Dust collection would most definitely be it. I'm not sure the polish fairies at Zoya Headquarters could have packed any more glittery goodness in these three polishes! I really like the mixture of texture, holographic hexagonal glitter, and smaller holographic and regular glitter. It's kinda like a stripper exploded on my nails, but you know, in a good way.

See the swatches and review after the jump!

ZOYA COSMO

ZOYA COSMO CLOSE UP

ZOYA COMSO 2

Silver textured glitter

A disco queen's dream! This polish packs a serious silver punch, and is by far my favorite of the trio! It's gorgeous, and I can't help but stare at it.

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Texture, 2 coats to be opaque

ZOYA VEGA

ZOYA VEGA CLOSE UP

ZOYA VEGA 2

Icy blue textured glitter

This is the perfect polish for this frigid, icy winter that we've been having! The pale blue glitter is reminiscent of frost sparkling on windowpanes, and unfortunately...the INSIDE of my car windows. :-D

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Texture, 2 coats to be opaque

ZOYA LUX

ZOYA LUX CLOSE UP

ZOYA LUX 2

Pink textured glitter

A princess polish if I ever saw one! Pink, sparkly and feminine! This was the sheerest of the three, and I could see the tiniest hint of a nail line after two coats.

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.25

Finish: Texture, 2-3 coats to be opaque

Application and removal on all three of these polishes was trouble free! Allow time for the polish to dry between coats, and skip the base coat and (of course) top coat! :)

What do you think? Do these polishes bring out the sparkle junkie in you? Tell me in the comments below! :)

Zoya nail polishes, as always, are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, and camphor and can be purchased at zoya.com and Ulta and Ulta.com for $9.

  1. I love how glittery they are, but I doubt I'll be able to put up with the grainy texture. I can't stand the snagging or the thought of rough nails. As some bloggers have been saying that even with a thick layer of topcoat, for people who dislike the texture, they are still bumpy. Is this true?

  2. I finally got these, I'd ordered other stuff on a promo so I could get these as a free set of minis. One other item I chose delayed the order for a long time until they finally said it was back ordered and sent everything else, including these. The word "encrusted" comes to mind :) Not in a bad way, like "encrusted with jewels" kind of way. I love textures, these are pretty over the top, though....maybe accent nail and maybe a color under the pink one... Great Easter spring pastels.
