I love tessellations. (an area covered by repeated use of a single shape, without gaps or overlapping) They're awesome. They're a pain in the ass to paint on a nail though. :-D These took a couple of redos. I think they turned out pretty awesome though, if I do say so myself. (at least I am happy with how they turned out!) I used one of the China Glaze Tronica collection holos, but it wasn't nearly as holo as I had hoped.. :-/ I bought them all when they came out, but I'm just trying 'em out now, I'm a little behind.
So which arrows do you see first? The blue ones? The black ones? For me, it depends on which nail I look at.
Tonight I made the best dinner, Chicken Tacos! I made the tortillas from scratch, made my own sour cream (it's impossible to find in India), steamed rice with fresh corn, added seasoned chicken and cheddar. SOOOO good.
I used China Glaze High Def as a base, with American Apparel Hassid for the black. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite topcoat.
Ever see the arrow in the FedEx logo? No? Look between the E and the x. Now you'll never be able to NOT see it.
Very, very cool! I love this design.
ReplyDeleteOh wow what a great mani! I didn't notice the blue arrows until You mentioned it. Lol! :)
ReplyDeletehave you seen the spoon in the fedex logo haha?!

ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this! Reminds me of those Mario levels where gravity keeps changing! =D
ReplyDeleteI love this design! I never would have thought about doing a design like this.
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer you question about which color I noticed first, it would have to be the black. But I like the blue ones better.
I LOVE this design...LOVE! I honestly didn't even notice the blue arrows on your nails until your brought it up, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove this nail as i am a fan of tessellations too, and i see the blue arrow first :D
ReplyDeleteOMG i totally saw the black arrows first!! its crazy at what the eye does to you as far as what is visible to you first. great mani and awesome looking taco!

ReplyDeleteThose tacos look delicious! Also, I see the black arrows more than anything :)
ReplyDeleteThis manicure is gorgeous!! My tesselation painting in art school wasn't nearly this good and it was lots bigger! :D
ReplyDeleteAlso? Those tacos look AMAZING. I may have to make some soon. Sounds so good!
I love this! Im definatly going to try this out! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the black ones first. HOW ON EARTH do you MAKE sour cream???
ReplyDeleteI saw the black ones immediately. I had to do a second glance to see the blue ones. I really like how these turned out. :) Thanks for pointing out the Fedex arrow. I will never not see it.
ReplyDeleteI saw the blue arrows first, but I might be conditioned via reddit because I immediately saw a downvote manicure (downvotes are blue arrows. Upvotes are orange) :)
ReplyDeleteINSANELY well done nails! You might need to see someone about that. I mean, you have polishing superpowers. And drooling over your dinner! Great job with the homemade goodies.
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy. The first time I saw it, I saw the blue. But I bookmarked it come back and comment and now I see the black 1st.. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVEEE
ReplyDeleteI saw the black arrows first, and only saw the blue after reading your description. I first read about the FedEx arrow in the webcomic xkcd a long time ago, but I forgot about it and this is the first time I actually saw it. Now, as you say, I'll probably never not see it!
