Graphic Neon

This week has been crazy X 10. I feel like all I do is work and sleep. (I worked a 17-hr day on tuesday- that is redonk!) I'm trying to get swatches and reviews of new products done, as well as attend to my actual life necessities, like bathing, and putting food in my head. I've got a few things in the next week or so I hope you'll get a kick out of, or at least take something from. I feel bad about all the simple, non-crazy detailed nail designs lately...to be honest, I just don't have the energy, but I'm TRYING, I promise!! :)
I used Nubar Stronghold as a base, with Zoya Dove for the lighter grey and MAC Vestral White with Color Club VOlt of Light over it for the neon yellow dots (man was that color hard to capture correctly on camera, I can never show the actual brightness of it as it looks in real life!) TOpped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.
Don't forget- you still have until tomorrow (Friday) at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time to enter the contest!! :)

ReplyDeleteWhy are you working two jobs?? Why not cut down on hours? Your killing yourself =(
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone :)
ReplyDeleteShannon-
Because while I'd love to be independently wealthy, alas, I am not. this means that in order to pay my bills, as well as maintain the costs of the blog, I get to work 2 jobs. :) Gotta do what you gotta do. :)
I LIKE a fair share of simple manis that I with my limited artistic ability (and not so vivid imagination) have a shot at recreating on my own nails without looking like pre-school artwork. The complicated ones are great fun to look at but totally not something I can reproduce.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, if I don't cut back on my polish/makeup/perfume habit, I'll be looking for a part time job too. It's either that or heat, lights and groceries being cut back and the DH so isn't going for that.
PS. I know that some bloggers really fight doing it, but have you considered a 'donate' button? I really enjoy your blog and I know how time consuming the design work (even simple ones) can be. Your time is worth something, even though it's something you enjoy a great deal. When you add the cost of all the various new polishes people want to see (and the freebies only account for a fraction of them folks), it's mind boggling. I only buy a fraction of the ones I think I want and even that gets crazy. I love to cook and feed my friends, and they seem to love to eat what I cook...but they don't expect me to do it all on my nickel. I'd pitch a few bucks in a Daily Nail pot now and then. Shoot, you have nearly 5000 followers. $1 each once a year would help a lot, and I'll bet I could even spare $2! lol
ReplyDeletei love the neon color! it's almost surreally bright...
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove this nail style! I would love to see you try a lace nail. I tried one today and it came out kinda messy and not as "lacey" as I would have liked.
ReplyDeleteThat neon yellow is so bright! I put a white dot (I used white-out) on my phone's charging plug to help me see which side is up at night. It was still hard to see, so I put some of that yellow over the white and now I can see that dot even when the only illumination is from the streetlight coming through the curtains at the other end of our house! It doesn't actually glow in the dark, but it doesn't need to.
