Say My Name, Say My Name! - 31 Day Challenge - Day 12

Nothing to Disclose Press Sample

So I found this book laying around the house that wasn't there before. I'm a little confused... it's called Handbook For the Recently Deceased, and I don't know where it came from. I feel a little discombobulated, too... and I don't have a reflection! What's going on?! Hold on, here's an ad I can call... Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Hit the jump for more!

To create this silly Beetlejuice-themed nail art for the 'Stripes' theme today in the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge, I painted my nails white, then hand painted black stripes. Topped that with topcoat, then dabbed a bit of dark brown on my makeup sponge and smeared it across a few spots on the nails - after all, the creepiest dude from the underworld can't be spic and span, right? Topped all that jazz off with some matte topcoat and let it dry. To get the mold effect, I used a sponge to dab some topcoat on parts of the nail and immediately tapped some green flocking powder on it and brushed off the excess. To get thicker patches of mold in places, I simply added a bit more topcoat and flocking powder. To tone down the brightness of the green, I sponged a tiny bit of olive colored polish on it, taking care not to hit the rest of the nail, and there you have it. Nails fit to summon any 'bio-exorcist'!

What did I use?

Glisten & Glow Wedding Gown White
Glisten & Glow Little Black Dress
Glisten & Glow HK Girl
KIKO 324 - Brown
OPI Suzi - the First Lady of Nails
Green Flocking Powder

    1. Thank you! I've been feeling a bit discouraged lately because I thought all of my old readers disappeared during my hiatus, but I'm glad you stuck around! :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  2. One of my favorite animated shows, Beetlejuice! I know it started as a movie, but the cartoon series is hilarious and one of my old favorites. I love this mani just for that.

  3. I'm one of your male fans, and I posted some of my own nail art during your first 2 years until you went to India and you stopped updating regularly. I searched for The Daily Nail this week because for reasons of insanity, I just started my own Tumbler blog (search there for "LeeeMost") a few days ago where I could show off pics of my nails.

It's great that you, my inspiration to do my own nail art, are still going strong!

    1. I definitely remember you, Lee! :) I'll have to check out your Tumblr (though I rarely find myself on that site, it's frustrating to me! lol)

Thanks for stopping by again after all this time! :)
